Silvio Berlusconi, the former Italian prime minister, has left €100m or more than Rs 900 crore to his partner, Marta Fascina, in his will. Berlusconi’s fortune was estimated at 5 billion euros, including publicly traded Fininvest.
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has left €100m (over Rs 900 crore) to his 33-year-old partner, Marta Fascina, in his will and control of his media empire to his two eldest children, The Guardian reported. Berlusconi, who died last month, also left €100m to his brother, Paolo.
Berlusconi was not legally married to Marta Fascina, but referred to her as his ”wife” on his deathbed, the report said. The media mogul died on June 12 at the age of 86 after being hospitalized for treatment of chronic leukemia.
Marta Fascina, who got into a relationship with Silvio Berlusconi in 2020, is a member of Forza Italia, the party founded by him in 1994.
BELUSCONI’S WEALTH
Berlusconi’s fortune was estimated at five billion euros, including publicly traded Fininvest, which is valued at 2.8 billion euros, real estate holdings worth around 700 million euros, stocks, artworks, and cash.
Berlusconi left €100m to Marta Fascina, €100m to his brother, Paolo, and €30m to Marcello Dell’Utri, a former lawmaker who served jail time for association with the mafia, the report said.
Now, Berlusconi’s children, Marina and Pier Silvio will hold a combined stake of 53% in Fininvest.
According to The Guardian, Berlusconi wrote the will by hand on a yellow notepad last year. He left 60% of his nonbusiness wealth to Marina and Pier Silvio, his two oldest children from his first marriage, while the youngest three children from a second marriage, Barbara, Eleonora, and Luigi, split the remaining 40%.
