Is it your good looks? Your dressing sense? Your ability to communicate? Your financial status?

A great personality is definitely about having all the above mentioned and more. The knowledge you possess, your ability to communicate effectively, your ability to influence a group, the confidence (there is a thin line between confidence and overconfidence, be aware and never step on that Lakshman Rekha) you exude when you walk into a room, your dressing sense (to an extent), your sense of humor and empathy.

We all have a personality, but not everyone has a great one. And that could be the difference between success and failure. So here are some tips that might be useful. This is not rocket science, everyone can learn and develop them.

The first and foremost important factor is Knowledge – Read, Write, Listen. Every time someone talks to you, listen very carefully, there is always something to learn no matter how boring or interesting the topic is. You never know when you learn your life’s most valuable lesson.

Read motivational books. A few that could be handy are 7 Habits of highly effective people, Wings of Fire by President Kalam, The Power of Subconscious Mind, The power of positive thinking & How to win friends & influence people. There are many books available which talk about success stories.

Watch videos, there are more than enough inspirational and motivational videos on the internet, make use of them.

Write down what you have learnt and your goals. Revisit and Revise. This will help you channelise your thoughts better.

A great man once said – “Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it” – Bruce Lee
